Mr. Robert Sinclair was the first principal of Lincoln Trail Elementary when it opened its doors in early 1967, serving in that role for 15 years. Naming the Lincoln Trail Library after him is an appropriate and fitting honor. If you agree, please consider signing this petition--you must be a registered voter in the M-S School District or a Bulldog Alum to sign: https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/name-the-lincoln-trail-elementary-school-library

Election Day in Illinois is June 28, with early voting beginning May 19. The Mahomet-Seymour School District has placed a referendum on the ballot in this election. This is asking our voters for a tax increase to finance the building of a 6th-8th grade building, a new transportation facility, and adding on to the other three buildings. We want to make sure that our voters/taxpayers have all the information needed to make an informed vote. You are invited to attend an Open House at Mahomet-Seymour Jr. High School so you can ask questions, see and gather information and become more informed about what you will be voting on in the election. You will be able to tour MSJH if you wish to do so. The dates of the Open Houses are: (you need only attend one, this is the same event on two different dates) Saturday, May 14, 9:00 a.m. -noon Tuesday, May 17, 5:00-8:00 p.m. You will also be receiving a postcard in the mail with a reminder and more information. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the above dates!

The MSJH Bulldog Invitational Track & Field meet was renamed on Thursday evening as the Coach Linda Parnell Bulldog Invitational. Linda Parnell served the Mahomet Seymour Schools for 33 years, 31 of those years as a teacher, and the last two finishing her career in public education as principal of Middletown Early Childhood Center. She also coached track and field at MSJH for 24 years, impacting and positively influencing hundreds of athletes and other coaches. Many of her athletes are still record holders at MSJH, with names prominently displayed on our record board. Congratulations Coach Parnell--a well deserved recognition honoring an educator with a servant's heart.
