The Mahomet-Seymour Board of Education will hold it's Regular Board Meeting tonight starting with a hearing at 6:30 We will be streaming live on Youtube. https://youtu.be/Evsac1Du5eo

While the focus has been on more classrooms to
accommodate growth, remember that our long range facility improvement plan also
takes care of the most pressing physical conditions of our schools to keep them in good
condition. That protects the investment our community has made in those buildings. To

The Mahomet Seymour Schools will be closed on Monday June 20, 2022 in honor of Juneteenth. We will have our scheduled Board of Education meeting the evening of June 20th, with a 6:30 public hearing and 7:00 pm regular meeting.

Why is our proposal described as long-range? Because it provides sufficient classroom space to accommodate our enrollment growth for 20 years. If our enrollment is still growing at the end of that period, the plan calls for a second phase that can be funded without raising our property tax rate.

Illinois property taxes are complicated. That’s why we have a tax calculator on our website so you can determine the impact of our bond proposal. Visit our website at https://www.ms.k12.il.us/. Click on Referendum 2022, then Tax Information, and then the Property Tax Calculator. And please remember to vote on or before June 28th.

It is important that everyone remember to vote. If the June 28 th election
day is going to be difficult for you, remember you can early vote right now. If you are not registered, you can still vote by what is called grace period registration and voting.
Early voting in a Mahomet location runs between June 13 and June 27th at the Lake of the Woods Pavilion, 109 S. Lake of the Woods Road. Hours are 11:00 to 6:00 Monday through Friday, 10:00 to 4:00 on Saturday and 1:00 to 4:00 on Sundays. For more information about voting, go to the Champaign County website about elections at:

At least 20 years — that’s how long the plan put together by our Bulldog Blueprint community engagement program will accommodate our growing enrollment. If more classrooms are needed at that point, the plan calls for a second phase to be funded with a zero-tax-change proposal.

Because of our growing enrollment, we are using trailers for classrooms this coming school year. Without adding classrooms to our schools, we face a choice of crowding more kids into existing classrooms or using more trailers. The choice is up to voters on June 28th.

We often hear "it's a great day to be a Bulldog"--and that was never more true than last evening at Krannert Center for the graduation of the Mahomet Seymour High School Class of '22. This ceremony was special--it represented resilience, hope, relationships and memories.
The singing of the national anthem was truly one of the most beautiful renditions ever--supported by the acoustics at Krannert. The 5 student speeches were amazing--thank you to Jackson, Mallory, Lily, Nick and Savannah! You were incredible!
Congratulations Class of 2022! You've made us all very proud and give us hope. We wish you the best in the future--and don't forget HOME.
If you'd like to watch the ceremony, it's available on Bulldog TV.
