Ryan Martin is the principal at Middletown Prairie Elementary School. This will be his 4th year at MPE where he was the assistant principal for one year and principal for the past two school years. Before going into administration, Mr. Martin taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade elementary students for 17 years. Mr. Martin also coached high school boys basketball in Mahomet for 13 years where he loved building relationships with his players and teaching a game that he has a passion for.
Many community members may know Mr. Martin through his wife Lisa. She is the head coach for the junior high cross country team, which grows year to year. Lisa also teaches health education at Mahomet-Seymour high school. This will be Lisa's 21st year teaching and coaching in the district.
Mr. Martin has 3 amazing daughters. Hannah is a 7th grader who runs on the cross country team and track team. She is excited to have the opportunity to try out for the basketball and volleyball team this year as well. Ashley is a 4th grader who simply loves life. She is involved in several sports as well and looking to explore sport opportunities that her big sister did not try. She enjoyed softball this summer and is looking forward to playing soccer this fall. Haley will be 2 on September 21. She has two of the best big sisters in the world that are always willing to watch her when mom and dad are busy with work. You can hear Mr. Martin say many times throughout the week that Haley is lucky she is cute, as she is in that tough toddler stage. :-)
