Mahomet Area Youth Club (MAYC) is the only community organization in Mahomet that serves low-income families with affordable youth programs year-round. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, this year has been very different for MAYC, and how they are serving youth during the school year is also different.
With the altered school plans for learning, families are faced with choosing between working and appropriate childcare and educational options. MAYC has adapted and created a new program- a "virtual learning program" for Jr. High students to meet the needs of families. This adapted program is a full day program, preventing students from being unsupervised and home alone while also improving educational outcomes and social and emotional development in a safe space with caring adults.
Changing MAYC’s programming has meant the need for additional resources and led them to apply for the State Farm Neighborhood Assistance Grant Program. And, MAYC has been selected as one of the finalists in the top 200 organizations across the nation!! The next phase includes the public voting for their favorite causes narrowing it down to the top 40 organizations who will get $25,000 from State Farm.
This means MAYC has a 1 in 5 chance of getting this grant, but they need our help.
Voting will begin this Wednesday September 23rd and runs through Friday October 2nd. Adults over age 18 with a valid email address canvote up to 10 times per day for their favorite cause. We hope you'll help MAYC with this exciting opportunity by voting and asking others to vote as well!
MAYC's project and voting can be found here:

Thank you for your ongoing support of MAYC and the youth that are served!

All meals are free through the first semester! We are now able to offer a wider variety of selections at MSJH and MSHS.
