Jeannette Hulick is beginning her fifth year as the teacher-librarian for Middletown Prairie Elementary school.  Raised in Mahomet, Champaign, and Sidney, and now living in Tolono, Mrs. Hulick received both her BS in Elementary Education and her MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.

Besides being a librarian, which is the best job ever, she is also the mother of one teenager (Elizabeth) and five cats (Homie, Milo, Rosie, Winnie, and Felix).  When she's not attending her daughter's cross country/track meets, band concerts, or show choir performances, she enjoys:  reading, writing, binge-watching movies and mystery TV series, photography, walking and hiking, being outdoors, gardening, baking, thrift store shopping, researching her family tree, dressing up in silly costumes, and working on arts and crafts projects.

Mrs. Hulick loves building relationships with students, connecting kids (and teachers) with books they will adore, and helping children fall in love with reading, libraries, and learning.  She is working hard this year to meet the many challenges of connecting kids with books and with the library, because she and the entire MPE community are determined to foster learning and a love for books despite the obstacles we face.

She is proud and grateful to be part of the hardworking, dedicated, and fun-loving staff at Middletown Prairie and can’t wait to see all the returning and new students, both in person and on screen, this year.
