Amanda Shanks is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist for the Mahomet-Seymour School District.  She has been working for the district for 19 years and has had the opportunity to work with all grade levels.  She currently is assigned to Middletown Prairie Elementary, while also serving district wide to assist with student acceleration, and English language learners.  Mrs. Shanks is married to her husband, Matt, and they have three children together.  This school year their son will be entering 6th  grade, with their daughters will be entering 4th and  1st grades.  The family also shares their home with a yellow lab named Duke and a dwarf rabbit named Brick

Mrs. Shanks loves to hike and spend time outdoors with her family, especially at the beach when possible. Most of her free time is spent watching her son play soccer and saxophone and her daughters dance.  She enjoys building relationships with students and their families to help guide them through the educational process and help students achieve their best performance.

Mrs. Shanks knows that this year will be met with many challenges however working together we can create more positive outcomes then going alone.
