“B.L.A.S.T. is Back! B.L.A.S.T. Session 1 registration begins on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6PM for Middletown Prairie (1st and 2nd grade) and 7PM for Lincoln Trail. Session 1 classes include art, literature, engineering, sports, scrapbooking, yoga, crochet, and more! B.L.A.S.T. is a fee based after-school enrichment program provided by the Mahomet-Seymour School District. Approximately 25% of enrollees are eligible for scholarships made possible by the Mahomet Area Youth Club (MAYC). This means that ALL children can participate in these unique and enriching classes! New - Short-Term Substitute License Individuals holding an Associate’s Degree or having completed 60 hours of college coursework are now eligible for a Short-Term Substitute License. Interested individuals must: -Submit official transcripts to the Regional Office of Education (ROE) -Be fingerprinted at the ROE and pay the $60 fee -Complete a physical; form submitted to the ROE -Attend the required district substitute teacher training on September 27, 2018 at Mahomet-Seymour Administrative Center. (8:45 am - 10:45 am) -Pay the $25 application fee Once all the steps are completed, individuals will be issued a Short-Term Substitute License. The license is valid through June 30, 2023 and allows individuals to substitute up to 5 consecutive days for a classroom teacher PK-12. Mahomet-Seymour currently pays $100 day for teacher substitutes.
