Karen McHale is beginning her 2nd year as a reading specialist and instructional coach at Middletown Prairie. This will be Mrs. McHale’s 20th year of teaching. Through the years she has taught all grade levels Kindergarten through 5th grade. Karen and her husband, Brendan, live in Mahomet and they have four children; Catherine, Nicholas, Jack, and Alex. They also have a dog named Brixen Ivy. Brixen Ivy is a wonderful chocolate lab who loves the Chicago Cubs as much as the rest of the family.
In her free time, Karen loves to travel with her family, take Brixen on long walks, go to their family cabin to swim and read a book while on the water, and she enjoys a cup of coffee in the early morning on her deck.
Mrs. McHale is looking forward to the start of a new school year and getting a chance to meet and work with new students and staff at MPE.
